The Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment in the Department of Civil Engineering has a vacancy for a part-time lecturer position for the academic year of 2023.

Part-Time Lecturer Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment Department of Civil Engineering

Minimum requirements

  • MTech/Master’s Degree/MEng inCivil Engineering preferably in Water Engineering.
  • Basic computer skills such as Microsoft, Excel and PowerPoint are a recommendation.
  • Advanced presentation skills.

Experience

  • At least 2 years teaching experience at a tertiary institution will be a recommendation.
  • At least 5 years relatedfield of Civil Engineeringindustry (Water Engineering).

Key performance areas/Core functions:

  • Lecturing and facilitation of class sessions.
  • Setting and marking of all assessments.
  • Participating in departmental and academic meetings.
  • General administrative duties such as capturing of test and assignment marks on the ITS system and uploading documents on the Learning Management System.
  • Students’ consultation.

Registration with professional body (if applicable):

  • ECSA but not compulsory.
