Assessment procedures

If your score is 19+, you will be invited to submit your portfolio. An informal discussion with lecturers and a demonstration will be held for the top 100 performers. 60% of the final admission score will come from the portfolio, and 40% from the informal discussion and demonstration.

We would like to inform our prospective students that admission to programs offered at the Faculty of the Arts is only possible after the relevant evaluative process has been successfully completed. The application deadline is 15 August, but please apply as early as possible.

SUBJECT INFORMATION

COMMUNICATION DESIGN I

Graphic design and advertising introductory assignments, with an emphasis on visual, problem-solving content, using concepts of conceptualization, visualization, and presentation.

DESIGN TECHNIQUES I

The basics of communication concepts, techniques, processes, and materials.

GRAPHIC DESIGN DRAWING I

Using observation and imagination, the course explores a wide range of drawn images in various media as source material for building a visual vocabulary.

HISTORY OF ART AND DESIGN I

The student will demonstrate an appropriate understanding of broad principles of art history. As a result of this course, students will gain an understanding of the development of art concepts, the critical analysis and explanation of works of art, and how these issues relate to studio practice.
