Sadly, on 2 February 2023, a third-year female student of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) passed away.

Originally from Ekhaya Junction, the student was enrolled as a student in the National Diploma in Integrated Communication program. A Gender-Based Violence incident appears to have caused her untimely death.
