TUT signs MOU.To enhance its scientific, socio-economic, and policy impact, Tshwane University of Technology actively engages and collaborates with relevant educational partners domestically and internationally.

As part of strategic partnership talks on 14 March 2023, Dean Dr Edgar Nesamvuni of the Faculty of Management Sciences and Vice-Chancellor Dr Florian Mtey of the National College of Tourism – Tanzania signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

As Dr Nesamvuni explained, discussions have been ongoing since 2022, and the MoU is intended to define areas of collaboration, African collaboration and scholarship, cooperation and interaction aimed at promoting education, science, and research in the future for the benefit of both universities.

It would be possible for the two partners to collaborate on any future projects of mutual interest under the terms of the signed contract.

TUT and NCT aim to work together in the following areas: 

  1. Providing tourism, events, hospitality, and entrepreneurship programs jointly.
  2. Guest lecturers will be exchanged between staff in the disciplines of Tourism Management, Events Management, Hospitality Management, and Entrepreneurship Development whenever necessary.
  3. Student exchanges as agreed upon in a separate agreement and the recognition of completed modules of study for qualification purposes as determined by the respective National Qualification Framework.
  4. Assistance provided to students at both institutions for the completion of project work
