Description

With Harambee and the Department of Employment and Labour, DEL, as the National Pathway Management Network, the Department of Home Affairs, DHA, seeks to hire 16 unemployed youth to digitize the records of the department of home affairs as Document Warehouse Controllers.

As part of its efforts to improve service delivery, the DHA has begun digitizing over 350 million paper records.

Using fixed-term contracts, the DHA seeks to assist the Presidential Employment Stimulus program in creating jobs and achieving its strategic priorities.

Duties include: 

• Move records to storage after retrieving them.
• Store records by copying, scanning, and storing them.
• Make sure the records are accurate and edit them if necessary.
• Records can be retrieved and stored as needed.
• Physically and digitally store records.
• Reports need to be prepared and submitted.

Requirement

• Citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 from South Africa.
• The Higher Certificate in Document and Records Management or Information Technology (NQF 5) must be recognized by SAQA.
• The applicant has no criminal record.

The following documents must be presented if you have been shortlisted for further consideration:

• Certificate of certification.
• Authenticated copy of identification document.

It is mandatory for successful candidates to undergo suitability checks (Citizenship, Credit, Criminal, and Qualification Verification).

A three-year contract (approximately from May/June 2023 to May/June 2026). When you are appointed, you will be required to sign a contract covering the duration of the project.
