TUT Part-Time Lecturer at the Ga-Rankuwa Campus In Advanced Diploma

The Faculty of Economics and Finance has a position of part-time Lecturer at the Ga-Rankuwa campus to teach the modules in the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Financial Management and Financial Planning.

Preference will be given to qualifying South Africans, including persons with disability and women. Please note that this part-time appointment will be for 6-hours per week for lecturing during the week.

Key Performance Areas/ Core Functions

The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • To Provide teaching and learning with the integration of technology as part of the teaching and learning strategy in Financial Planning, Management Accounting, Risk Management and Financial Management at Diploma and Advanced Diploma Diploma levels.
  • To be responsible for administrative tasks related to (but not limited to ) teaching and learning, such as marking of scripts, maintaining a subject portfolio file, capturing of marks.
  • Assist with new curriculum development in the department .
  • Participate in subject and curriculum committees.
  • Participating in Departmental, Faculty and Institutional initiatives
  • Lead and participate in community engagement projects.
  • Compile and maintain quality study guides, examination question papers and memorandums as well as subject files.
  • Liaise with service departments as well as the industry regarding practical training or Work Integrated Learning (WIL), advisory committee meetings, industry visits and other related activities.

Minimum qualifications

  • At least a Post-graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (NQF 8)
  • An Honours degree in Management Accounting/Financial Management/Financial Planning/Finance or any equivalent relevant qualification with evidence of registration of a partially completed post graduate diploma in financial planning.(NQF8)

Experience

  • At least 3 years lecturing in the relevant subject, research and industry experience, or other discipline related work will be highly recommended.
  • Excellent written, oral, communication, presentation and computer skills as well as the ability to work with students, to conduct workshops, seminars etc.
  • Research experience is strongly recommended and in particular, proof of participation in research activities. Experience on Investment Management and Financial Modelling software will also be highly recommended.

Registration with professional bodies

Membership and involvement in the professional societies of the discipline as well as professional registration are recommended.
